XKL is taking a break from the American Northwest climate to attend the Pacific Telecom Council’s PTC’17 event, taking place from January 15 – 18 in Honolulu. Representing the company on the “Topical Session 9: Green Data: Opportunities and Risks” panel is XKL’s Director of Engineering, Dr. Chad Lamb. Dr. Lamb, along with his fellow panelists from companies including Vigilent, Equinix and Digital Realty, will provide insight into the complexities of identifying and maintaining energy-efficient networking solutions.
PTC is a renowned three-day event that brings together leading telecommunications decision-makers and offers optimal educational and networking opportunities. Dr. Lamb’s session will take place on Wednesday, January 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. HST.
“PTC is a must-attend event that brings together innovators and decision-makers within the telecommunications marketplace,” comments Dr. Lamb. “I look forward to attending and networking with my colleagues, but also to providing actionable insight into successfully implementing energy efficient networking solutions – a subject that will only grow in importance in the years to come.”
XKL’s DarkStar product suite has been providing “green” solutions for some time now. These systems utilize environmentally-friendly Layer 1 hardware for significant reductions in power and cooling costs. By equipping facilities with XKL appliances, data center providers can offer cloud services at a much-reduced price tag compared to the industry’s standard connection costs.
In addition to presenting, the XKL team will also be available to discuss XKL’s new product line, eVolocity. Officially released this past year, eVolocity is the industry’s first 100GE solution that uses statistical multiplexing and priority traffic scheduling to intelligently allocate bandwidth.
