Educational session will review public safety In-Building Wireless requirements and outline the necessary steps to providing optimal coverage

westellWestell Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTL), a provider of high-performance wireless infrastructure solutions, announced that Tom Chamberlain, Westell’s Area Vice President of Sales, will host an educational presentation at CTIA Super Mobility 2016 titled, “Understanding Public Safety Requirements and Processes for In-Building Public Safety Coverage.” CTIA Super Mobility 2016 takes place September 7-9, 2016, in Las Vegas, NV. The CTIA educational session will take place on September 7, 2016, from 2:30 pm to 2:50 pm in the Exhibit Hall at the Solutions Theater.

As a CTIA Gold Sponsor, Westell is exhibiting at Booth #4461 during the event and will showcase its PS51080 Public Safety Repeater solution. Westell’s PS51080 is an in-building repeater that meets existing public safety communication regulations and addresses future mandates and nationwide network deployments for emergency and disaster preparedness communications.

“Public safety coverage has become an increasingly critical focus for integrators, building owners and enterprise customers,” said Chamberlain. “According to a July 2016 market researchctia report by MarketsandMarkets, the Public Safety In-Building Wireless market expects to see astronomical growth; growing from $404.2 million in 2016 to $1.74 billion by 2021. Today’s public safety standards require integrators, building owners and enterprise customers to have the appropriate policies in place prior to receiving a Certificate of Occupancy. My goal for this session is to clearly map out the steps that need to be taken to provide optimal in-building wireless coverage, while distinctly explaining the strict requirements for the public safety industry.”

From the history and evolution of public safety communications to the modern-day catalysts driving change for in-building public safety, Chamberlain’s presentation will explain the processes and considerations that can help all parties be compliant with local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
