Skyrocketing Bandwidth Demands Forge the Path to XKL’s Most Successful Year Yet

2017 was a great year!

With the first quarter of 2018 coming to a close, XKL has had time to review and compare its 2017 revenue results against the success benchmarks of previous years and has determined that 2017 was the company’s most successful year to date.

What factors drove the success?

In a word, bandwidth. Enterprises and service providers alike have continued to expand their bandwidth to 10G capabilities and in some cases, are aggressively pushing towards 100G services. The onslaught of emerging technology that is approaching maturity has been a major factor in the explosive growth that bandwidth is undergoing across a variety of industries.

“Our ability to drive more than twice as much bandwidth down a 100G link is a key differentiator,” comments Chad Lamb, Chief Systems Architect for XKL. “We can help fiber-poor entities maximize their existing network – eliminating barriers to digital transformation. 2017 was a record-breaking year for us and we expect a bright future as the adoption of the XKL product portfolio accelerates.”

What industries did XKL experience the most growth in?

Diversification across XKL’s customer base resulted in significant increases from education and research networks as well as the government vertical attributing to the years’ growth.

Education / Research: It’s no secret that the education system, like the rest of society, is becoming increasingly digital at a frantic pace. The internet has fueled advancements in EdTech and has opened the gateway to distance learning initiatives, tablet and mobile capabilities for students, smart dorms and campuses, and access to many other educational resources that would have previously been unavailable before the digital age. All of that requires a serious uptick in bandwidth capabilities, which XKL strives to meet with its various hardware.

Government: Over the past few years, government agencies have worked towards expanding the reach and capabilities of their networks across the U.S. for a variety of reasons. This trend certainly drives the need for greater bandwidth and is partially responsible for XKLs banner 2017.

XKL is looking forward to expanding on its 2017 success with a number of interesting projects and announcements planned for 2018. Be on the lookout for the latest news from XKL.
