Alteva announced the launch of its Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking solution. Part of the Alteva’s suite of Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) solutions, Alteva SIP Trunking is designed for businesses to maximize the usability of undepreciated PBXs by replacing traditional, fixed public switch telephone network lines with a next-generation IP-based environment. Eliminating costly PRI’s and consolidating voice and data traffic onto one single platform provides cost reduction and new capabilities. According to Elka Popova of Frost & Sullivan, SIP Trunking in North America is expected to grow from 7.2 million users in 2010 to 59.1 million users by 2017.
