TNN is reporting on the road from Dallas, TX at COMPTEL Fall 2012.

COMPTEL’s bi-annual conference is in full swing today where everything is truly bigger at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas. tw telecom CEO, Larissa Herda gave a powerful keynote address on the benefits of competition and innovation in today’s world.

According to Larissa, tw telecom faced the challenges of the recession “head-on” and finds success even through turbulent times. Larissa believes that “races are won and lost in the transition,” using a sailing metaphor to relate to today’s business world.  “The sailors who pull their sails late when the weather gets rough sink; and those who wait to put their sails back up can miss valuable opportunity.”

tw telecom continues to raise its sails towards innovation and growth, even when at times uncertain waters seemed ahead. Larissa also noted how the telecom industry has to work together to drive innovation in products and services. She mentioned how end users are also innovating on the application level, and the ways in which they use the services. Larissa concluded that “after all, the fishing is still good” and judging by the number of meetings taking place onsite here at COMPTEL, that statement rings true.

Back in New York City, things are staying busy for tw telecom’s Manhattan office. From its highly successful “Summer Send-Off” event with IO Data Centers last month, to the upcoming Real Share New York and NYC Real Estate Expo (NYCREE) events, tw telecom Manhattan is excited for new growth and opportunities that the fall season will bring.  tw telecom’s own VP and General Manager, Robert Bianco will be speaking at the NYCREE on Thursday, October 18, sharing his perspective on “NYC’s Changing Commercial Tenant Landscape and Growing Bandwidth Needs.”
