Precision OT Talks SDN, 200G, 400G and More Optical Networking Trends on JSA TV

At PTC’19, JSA TV had the opportunity to welcome Dan Sobel, Senior Account Director for Precision OT, for a chat about the company’s latest news and updates on the optical networking space at large.

Dan spoke about:

  • Precision OT’s #2 spot on the Rochester Chamber Top 100 list of the fastest-growing privately owned businesses in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region
  • Optical networking trends such as the shift to higher data rate optics
  • Challenges Precision OT is solving for service providers and enterprises related to SDN adoption and the industry shortage in the 400G space (the company created its new Lightseer product to help customers manage, monitor and predict errors for their software-defined networks,Dan pointed out)

What’s been the key to Precision OT’s success?

“We identified and capitalized on a problem in the industry, and that was the growing need for data, for bandwidth, and we saw that our customers were not getting the optics that they needed fast enough and they were paying way too much for them,” Dan noted.

Precision OT is a system engineering company focused on optical transceivers and related active/passive optical components. For more information, visit www.precisionot.com. To watch the full JSA TV interview, click here.
