With five independent subsea cable systems interconnecting North America, Europe, South America and the Caribbean, NJFX’s Carrier-Neutral Cable Landing Station (CLS) colocation campus is growing strong.
NJFX just welcomed NetIX, a Europe-based carrier class Ethernet exchange, into its robust ecosystem. This marks the debut of NetIX into the U.S. market!
Recognized at Capacity’s Global Carrier Awards as “Best Internet Exchange”, NetIX provides a Carrier Class Ethernet platform and connects 20+ IXPs, serves more than 100 members, reaches nearly 5000 direct peers in 28 data centers and delivers close to 500 Gbps of traffic. This brings together two Global Carrier Award Winners, as NJFX won Capacity’s Best North American Project 2018.
“About one quarter of the world’s networks are concentrated in the U.S., so the U.S. market is where NetIX is naturally welcome today,” comments Mariyan Rangelov, NetIX CEO. “Our market-entry through the PoP at NJFX will provide opportunities for American peers to exchange traffic directly with other peers around the world on the shortest possible physical and logical paths, which will in turn be of tremendous value for the Internet eco-system,” added Dean Belev, VP Services of NetIX.
“For our part, we are thrilled to work with NetIX, as the company has an expansive network throughout Europe with premier locations such as Madrid, Frankfurt, Paris and London, along with other, more difficult to reach locations in Europe and beyond it,” states NJFX General Manager Felix Seda. “This makes the network very appealing to the international networks that we work with, either here in the U.S. or also in Latin America. This is the true value of what NJFX can do for our clients when connecting into our ecosystem and collaborating for each other’s success.”
