Today, MRV Communications announced an upgrade to its Pro-VisionÒ service management and orchestration software platform. The upgrade includes a next generation RESTCONF Northbound application program interface (API), that leverages standards-based Yang models for seamless integration with high-order orchestration platforms. This will enable full Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) for transport services.Picture1

Pro-Vision – which can scale to meet a broad range of customer needs, from regional operators to the largest global service providers – integrates with MRV’s optical transport family and switching platforms. How does this enable service providers? By designing, managing, diagnosing, visualizing and optimizing their multilayer networks, Pro-Vision allows for optimal control, all while reducing costly operating expenses. To complement this, the upgrade will further simplify service management and support new optical and packet products and features.

“We are excited to introduce our latest update of Pro-Vision which includes a next generation RESTCONF Northbound management interface that allows for seamless integration of Pro-Vision with emerging open and programmable SDN-enabled networks,” commented Adam Scheer, Chief Operating Officer of MRV. “Our latest update further aligns Pro-Vision with our commitment to deliver solutions designed to offer our customers flexibility and choice as they build their next generation networks.  Pro-Vision is engineered to provide full LSO for MRV-powered networks and, with this software release, also supports seamless standards-based integration for service orchestration platforms currently being rolled out more broadly in the market. Finally, Pro-Vision now enables integration with other types of platforms – such as OSS/BSS – as standards-based interfaces are ratified.”
