Lightower Fiber Networks and PCCW Global announced today an agreement to establish international Ethernet interconnectivity (E-NNIs) between their networks. This new agreement enables both companies to leverage each other’s network footprint and offer end users additional networking solutions.
PCCW Global is an operating division of HKT, Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications service provider. By establishing this Ethernet interconnect with PCCW, Lightower will extend its switched and dedicated regional Ethernet reach beyond the U.S. and into 86 countries covered by PCCW Global’s Ethernet network. This also allows Lightower customers to access the more than 100 Ethernet PoPs deployed on PCCW’s leading-edge international MPLS backbone.
Connecting major carrier hotels within New York and Chicago, the new E-NNIs enhance PCCW Global’s Ethernet capabilities in the United States and will bridge the East Coast and Midwest regions. PCCW Global is continuously expanding its services into new markets and developing its business into far-flung locations worldwide with carrier MPLS and Ethernet interconnects reaching more than 3,000 destinations in 130 countries.
