As ‘Part 3’ of JSA’s ITW 2019 Blog Series, we want to share with you the ins and outs about the area surrounding the two host venues: The Atlanta Marriott Marquis and the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

First off, let’s talk about travel. Both hotels are about 20 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL), which happens to be the busiest airport in the world with over 100,000,000 passengers annually. Atlanta also ranks in the top 10 of the world’s most traffic-congested cities. What does this mean for you? Plan your travel wisely and account for congestion at the airport as well as traffic to and from the airport.

Many ITW attendees like to stay at a hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the event. Well, we have good news for you; there are multiple upscale hotels in the vicinity of the host hotels, including Aloft Atlanta Downtown, Sheraton Atlanta, Westin Peachtree Plaza, Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center, Ritz Carlton Atlanta and Hotel Indigo. One thing to keep in mind is that the average temps in Atlanta in June are 89 degrees Fahrenheit/ 69 degrees Celcius, so it will be toasty. This is something to consider when booking a hotel that is more than a few minutes walk away.

Next up, local dining and bars/lounges – which again, there is no lack thereof. The Marriott has 3 restaurants on-property as well as a market and Starbucks. The Hyatt also has 3 restaurants and a market, but no Starbucks (which is something you might want to keep in mind when booking your hotel room and/or company meeting room). In addition to what is in the side-by-side host venues, there are countless restaurants and bars/lounges within walking distance. If you are interested in setting up a client dinner or cocktail party, let [email protected] know, and we can provide a detailed list of potential venues and an estimated budget based on your specific event needs.

Lastly, there are some wonderful event venues located in the surrounding area, such as The Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, CNN, The Atlanta Botanical Garden, and Centennial Olympic Park. We are excited about the potential for some really spectacular events each night of the event. Again, JSA is happy to help put together an event for you, whether it is a private tour of CNN with your top prospects or a large cocktail event at the underwater world of the Georgia Aquarium, which happens to be the largest aquarium in the US, home to the only whale sharks outside of Asia. It is a MUST-see while in Atlanta and will be a highly sought after event venue for companies planning to host events at ITW.

The time to start planning ITW is NOW, and JSA is here to make it easy for you. We offer full support on-site during the event as well as event planning for all of those important evening networking events. We are excited to get started putting together an amazing ITW in A-Town.
