So you just signed up to sponsor the next industry tradeshow or event, now what? There is nothing wrong with getting the most bang for your sponsorship dollars. Your company paid the money, make sure you are receiving all of the benefits that you were promised. Here are a few simple ways to make sure your company makes the most of it’s money spent.

Set clear expectations. What will your company receive in return? You need to be clear on all inclusions before you commit. A complete fulfillment grid should be established with timelines and assignment of responsibilities.

Event attendance. How many attendees will be at the event?  Attendance is a key measure of an event’s success. You are sponsoring the event for brand exposure right? Make sure the event is large enough to make an impact.

Promote your sponsorship. Publicize your sponsorship on your website and through social media. Be sure that your target audience is aware of your involvement in the event.

Follow Up after the event.  Ask for a summary of your benefits from the hosting company. Did you receive everything you were promised? This is important information to help you understand what sponsorships will be beneficial to your company in the future.
