Hibernia Networks has added a new stamp to its global network’s passport. The provider has established a PoP in Dubai, marking its initial entry into the Middle East market. Hibernia’s low latency connectivity solutions will link Dubai to other major financial hubs and media centers in Europe, North America and Asia, providing customers with access to its full suite of comprehensive services and the lowest latency connection between New York and Dubai.
Hibernia Networks’ PoP is located in one of Dubai’s major telecom hubs, placing clients just a cross-connect away from other networks with reach into the Middle East and beyond. The Ethernet-based connectivity service leverages Hibernia Express and is ideal for applications that require high-speed, high-quality connectivity, such as split second financial transactions and live broadcast feeds.
In a Q&A with Capacity Magazine Omar Altaji, Hibernia Networks’ CCO, spoke to the opportunity for growth in the region. Hibernia sees the sector-specific Free Zones in Dubai as key catalysts for accelerated growth. The provider’s low-latency services are an ideal fit not only for financial firms and trading exchanges connecting to the DIFC, but also for the world’s largest broadcasters requiring connectivity into the growing media hub. Additionally, Internet traffic in the region is on the rise thanks to the DIC. As such, Hibernia expects to see a considerable demand for connectivity between large data centers and hub locations for cloud applications.
