Hibernia Networks’ new EtherReach Cloud Exchange is taking cloud connectivity to the next level by enabling connections to more than 500 cloud service providers across the globe via Ethernet connectivity to and within the Equinix Cloud Exchange. The service taps into Hibernia Express, the industry’s lowest latency transatlantic cable, to deliver the high-speed connectivity required by those running latency sensitive and data-intensive cloud applications.
EtherReach Cloud Exchange provides fast and seamless connectivity to the Equinix Cloud Exchange. Customers are able to access hundreds of cloud providers through this exchange, including leading Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud platforms. By combining a more consistent and lower latency network experience with access to cost-effective cloud services, Hibernia’s customers are able to simplify operations, improve efficiencies and accelerate their time to market.
The EtherReach Cloud Exchange is not only the largest network connectivity Deployment for the Equinix Cloud Exchange to date, but it is also the first connectivity offering to the platform in the three major international regions of Asia, Europe and North America. The service consists of two phases; the first of which launched today. The first phase includes 12 major cities located in six countries. The second phase, slated for the first quarter of 2016, will expand the service’s reach to 18 cities in 11 countries.
