GlobeNet announced its new virtualization service today while on-site at Capacity Latam in Rio de Janeiro. One of the fastest-growing technologies, virtualization enables the extension of networks beyond their domestic markets. The result is agile, flexible and cost-effective international connectivity that allows carriers and ISPs to access new market opportunities quickly either via the deployment of new networking services or scaling existing services to meet changes in demand. The best part? Virtualization eliminates the overhead of deploying new equipment and infrastructure.Virtualization-Banner-Website

“Carriers and ISPs need to present additional value to their customers in order to stand out in the competitive global telecommunications market,” states Erick W. Contag, President and Chief Operating Officer of GlobeNet. “Virtualization enhances any customer network by expanding it to critical global PoPs without having to invest in the deployment of a subsea fiber system or purchase expensive equipment.”

GlobeNet’s service provides connectivity to key PoPs in North and South America enabling customers to easily expand and enhance their networks. The PoPs include New York and Miami in the United States; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Bogota, Colombia and Caracas, Venezuela. Virtual routers in Miami and New York enable customers to aggregate their international capacity and manage connection to peering fabrics. Transport is also available between locations as a part of the new offering.
