Peak®, a leading enterprise-class IaaS Cloud service provider for channel partners, announces it has published two U.S. patents for its layer 2 Peak to Peak Direct Connect networking service, enabling quicker, simpler, and more cost-effective hybrid cloud migrations.
With Peak to Peak Direct Connect, clients can use their own IP schema, firewalls and routing, eliminating the inherent complexities of Layer 3 networking. Additionally, clients may keep the network provider of their choosing. To read more about the features behind Peak to Peak Direct Connect visit Peak’s website.
“One of the greatest barriers to cloud conversion has traditionally been the complexity of Layer 3 network migration,” states Hooker Heggestad, Senior Engineer and co-author of patent for Peak. “With Peak you can keep the IP addresses you currently use and there is no need to re-provision firewalls, routers, or Spanning Tree Protocol [STP]. For large companies who may have 2000+ devices, conversions to Layer 3 could take up to a year and now with Peak’s network patent, it can take less than an hour”
Peak operates Type II SSAE 16 and SOC 1 & 2 compliant cloud nodes in eight geographies across the United States and in Europe. Its VMware vCloud® Powered cloud environment contains tens of thousands of virtual machines and multiple petabytes of storage for public, private, hybrid and disaster recovery solutions.
