WireIE is proud to announce that it’s made the shortlist for the 2014 Capacity Global Carrier Award program’s Special Recognition for Corporate Social Responsibility. Applicants for this category were encouraged to outline programs and initiatives that improve their surrounding community. Capacity received a record-breaking 160 submissions and, with the help of 20 judges, selected WireIE as a finalist.
WireIE’s submission highlighted its extensive and ongoing work both within Canada and internationally. WireIE is particularly proud of its dedicated support to education and healthcare. In addition to providing high-availability and high-speed Carrier Ethernet services to underserved areas, WireIE provides computers and videoconferencing technology to students throughout North America. The company also sponsors flights for patients to get state-of-the-art care at metropolitan hospitals.
“At WireIE, we are dedicated to unleashing the potential of underserved areas,” explains Rob Barlow, President & CEO of WireIE. “Our company has been recognized for our carrier efforts and success, and we are honored to now be recognized for our hands-on approach to giving. WireIE takes Corporate Social Responsibility seriously, always accounting for it in our annual financial plans. It is also proudly reflected in our company culture. We look forward to bettering our community for years to come.”
