MRV Communications has yet again been selected to assist with a fiber backbone build-out and this time it was chosen by BTC Broadband, a regional broadband telecommunications service provider in the State of Oklahoma.

BTC Broadband was in search for an effective solution that could be both cost-effective and have the capability to satisfy their current bandwidth requirements, while also being able to scale well into the future. By incorporating MRV’s OptiDriver®, BTC Broadband received enhanced network capabilities including the opportunity to launch service points in every business district within its network route and expand capacity and coverage of its fiber network. This was essential, because the regional service provider has greatly invested in fiber infrastructure throughout key areas in Oklahoma, including Tulsa.

MRV’s OptiDriver® wasn’t the only player in the strategic WDM network build-out. There was one other tool in the solution that was implemented – MRV’s, Pro-Vision® Life Cycle Service Orchestration (LSO) software. This software significantly eases network operations and provides a complete set of automated tools on its own, including planning and provisioning, to visualizing and optimizing packet and optical networks and services.

“MRV prides itself on providing a consultative approach and works closely with our service provider customers to ensure all requirements are met,” added Scott St. John, Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Services for MRV Communications. “In this case, MRV not only provided a solution that met BTC Broadband’s design needs, but also supported critical delivery and service turn-up dates.”
